We are constantly reminded that time is precious. A finite amount is given to all of us and we are unsure as to how long we all have on this earth.
If we think about this too long it can really mess with our anxious mind,
“I must always hustle/be grateful/be productive/be present”.
That pull between making our time worth something and enjoying the moment.
Hobbies, being in nature, meditation, time with friends and family, walking your dog, play. We need time for these, it’s part of what makes us human. The trick is being aware enough to realise when you're mindlessly scrolling Instagram instead of being inspired by a page you follow and being engrossed in their content. Or when you're on a roll with a creative thought at work instead of sticking around longer than needed because you feel the pressure to, despite not being productive at all.
If it’s adding to your happiness enjoy the time you’re “wasting”.
Don’t feel guilty about it and ruin the moment before it’s begun.
