TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF

I started my first Personal Training business when I was 17, coaching 1-on-1 female clients out of my college gym to pay my way through university. I studied business & finance in university and went on to work in investment banking for two years. Fitness and athleticism has always been a huge part of my life, so when I found myself moving over to Australia 4 years ago I chose to pursue my passion in that industry, and leave my time in finance behind. I haven’t looked back since!

    WHY DO YOU TRAIN?

I train because I love it! It makes me a stronger, kinder, happier and more resilient person. Training has shown me the beauty of my body and the huge (lifelong) benefits of small efforts repeated day-in and day-out.

Ultimately, I train to be strong & fit & capable for my family. I want to be able to run, hike, climb, travel and pick up my grandchildren well into old age. My fitness helps to make that possible.

    WHY DO YOU COACH?

Being able to change the way someone thinks about their body is why I coach. There is no better feeling in the world than witnessing someone (who initially had nothing nice to say about themselves), blossom into this beautiful ray of confidence, self respect and pride. I pinch myself that I get to call this “work” every day!

    WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY?

Move well. Understand your body. Keep it simple. Control the ego.

So much can come from hard work, efficiency and simplicity in movement and a solid, positive mind that’s eager to learn and grow.

    FAVOURITE WORKOUT TRACK?

My go-to “pump” up song when I’m lifting (and terrified of the weight on the bar) is Points of Authority/99 problems - Jay Z & Lincoln Park.

    FAVOURITE QUOTE?

“In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety.” Abraham Maslow

TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF

Growing up playing softball and waterpolo I’ve always excelled in a team environment. Whilst at university for a Bachelor of Media Studies I went down the cardio gym class path and ended up with a variety of injuries. Enter strength training, it made sense – how can I ask my body to work hard if I don’t let it be the strongest it can be?

I loved it so much I became a coach at the gym I attended. I'm in an exciting place now, I've got a mission to learn and grow as much as I can as a coach whilst helping others do the same.

    WHY DO YOU TRAIN?

Training for me has made me feel strong, capable and able to take on anything. When I’m able to channel all my energy into a lift or workout there is a huge sense of satisfaction, regardless of how my day/week/month is going. It’s therapy, only cheaper.

    WHY DO YOU COACH?

As a coach I get to interact with a variety of people all wanting to achieve more and maybe even prove themselves wrong about their perceived abilities. And I get to do it everyday, to celebrate every tiny victory and connect with human beings.

    WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY?

I’ve adopted my philosophy from Julien Pineau (a coach and movement specialist) “move safer, better and stronger”. We all want to move well and pain free into our old age. That means starting when we’re young, laying strong foundations to help support us when life throws us a curve ball.

    FAVOURITE WORKOUT TRACK?

“Till I Collapse” – Eminem & Nate Dogg.

    FAVOURITE QUOTE?

“Your effect on others is the most valuable currency we have.” Jim Carrey

TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF

I started coaching in the fitness industry 7 years ago. I come from a competitive netball background, which is what initially sparked my love of athleticism and human movement. I am a two-time Crossfit regional athlete and have a range of certs including gymnastics, Australian Weightlifting Federation license and Strongman.

    WHY DO YOU TRAIN?

I train because it makes me more energetic, more productive, a nicer person (haha) and I like the feeling of accomplishment afterwards.

    WHY DO YOU COACH?

I coach because I want to show people how fun and fulfilling training can be... instead of seeing it as a chore. I love the pride I feel coaching our girls as well. Seeing them hit PB's and smashing their goals feels as much a victory for me as it is for them!

    WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY?

I have a few ... but the one's I seem to revert back to most frequently are "Keep it Simple" and "Don't be Dumb!".

    FAVOURITE WORKOUT TRACK?

Killing in the name - Rage against the machine.

    FAVOURITE QUOTE?

"If you're not having fun, you're doing it wrong." - Me.

TELL ME A LITTLE ABOUT YOURSELF

Growing up I have always been competitive and athletically driven. I competed national level for swimming and state level for basketball and touch football throughout school. When I was 19 I decided I want to start training with a trainer and 12 months later I was so obsessed with weight training I decided I need a career change from make up to personal training.

Over the last seven years I have competed in two body building shows figure division, placing third in both. I started crossfit and weight lifting and am now qualified to coach both as well as being a personal trainer.

    WHY DO YOU TRAIN?

Because it makes me happy! Training has taught me a lot, How to be patient, committed, understanding, driven, focused and most of all confident. I can safely say it has helped me become a stronger and happier person inside and out. I like pushing my body and my mind to its limits, seeing what it's capable of and then going back the next day and trying again.

    WHY DO YOU COACH?

Because when you get to witness someone achieve something they never thought they could do and the joy that brings them, there is no better feeling in the world. I want to help people believe in their own capabilities and then smash them.

    WHAT IS YOUR TRAINING PHILOSOPHY?

Move well before you move heavy and invest in it. Show up and do the work. Don't expect perfect movement without practice.

    FAVOURITE WORKOUT TRACK?

When I'm going for heavy lift - Rob Bailey & The Hustle Standard ft Busta Rhymes - BEAST, or Eminem - till I collapse

    FAVOURITE QUOTE?

"It is better to cross the line and face the consequences than to just stare at the line your whole beautiful life." - Me
